Genres

BALLET

Ballet is the technical basis of all dance form, working to develop muscular strength, a strong core, and flexibility; using bodily expression to tell stories on stage.

BALLROOM

Traditional partner dancing for children and adults using techniques and rhythms of Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep & Viennese Waltz

CHEER

An American art form created to champion and encourage sports teams. An emphasis on teamwork using visual shapes and formations to create a powerful effect and catch the eye.

FREESTYLE

Fast paced, rhythmical dance form incorporating energetic routines full of kicks, leaps and turns to modern music. Originating in  the 1970's it continues to develop with a wide musical spectrum.

FITNESS

We offer a wide range of Fitness classes covering Cardio, Toning and Strength & Conditioning in a fun dance environment!

BALLET CONDITIONING

Posture and body control is  important, particularly if you want to venture on to pointe, and the class uses exercises and floor work as well as Pilates balls, bands and mats, to help them work on specific muscle groups.

LATIN

Traditional partner dancing for children and adults using techniques and rhythms of Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive and more.

POINTE

The ultimate aim for the training ballerina, it relies on strength in the feet and ankles and solid ballet technique to support the body. An extremely demanding area of ballet, not suitable for every dancer.

MODERN JAZZ

The technical basis for modern dance with a focus on turns, leaps, spins, body strength and flexibility. Supported by a foundation in ballet technique, the aim is to maximise musicality.

STREET

Derived from hip hop culture, a grounded expressive dance form based on rhythmical interpretation, isolation and strength. In class, pupils work on both improvisation and impressive routines.  

MUSICAL
THEATRE

Dancing, singing and acting for the musical stage. With emphasis on character, speech and vocal technique, pupils work on musical performances as well as musical theatre and drama exams.

TAP

Based on creating rhythms through fast leg and ankle work, but with an effortless finish, tap dance belongs to the classical musical stage and to the realm of contemporary percussive instruments.
